The analysis here presented is part of a wider research that was recently published, concerning the investigation of the collection of antiquities of Giovanni Carafa duke of Noja. This paper is principally focused on understanding how the Bourbon acquired the collection of antiquities of the duke. The discovery of unpublished documents at the State Archive of Naples allows to examine some aspects strictly related to the preservation of antiquities and the museography issues during the Bourbon kingdom.
