Alzheimer disease is one of the most devastating brain diseases of middle-aged and elderly humans. This disease is not only a social and an economic tragedy of major proportions in modern society, but it also represents a great scientific challenge. To date, the etiology and the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease remain elusive.
