The essay aims to present some reflections and practical examples aimed at creating training courses around the themes of racism and colonialism, in order to develop a critical attitude on these complex issues in the classroom. In particular, the article takes inspiration from a training course proposed by the Italian Society of History of Science to a group of lower secondary school teachers, particularly focused on the use of historical sources and materials and the development of laboratory activities. Starting from this experience, broader methodological observations are proposed aimed at investigating in a historical perspective the relationship between racism, colonialism and the practices and materials on which these phenomena were constituted, investigating in particular the relationship with the collections of museums, visual sources and archaeology.

Starting from this experience, broader methodological observations are proposed aimed at investigating in a historical perspective the relationship between racism, colonialism and the practices and materials on which these phenomena were constituted, investigating in particular the relationship with the collections of museums, visual sources and archaeology.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
