In the context of the current proliferation of temporary events as multifaceted phenomena, the research addresses the spatial interactions between a festival and its location. The analysed case, Lucca Comics and Games, is currently the largest European event dedicated to fantasy culture in terms of the attendance. It takes place since 1966 in the Tuscan town of Lucca, a historically preserved and ‘atmospherically’ qualified urban landscape. The investigation of the relations between the event and this particular setting moves from an analysis of multiple temporalities; short-term, long-term and cyclical interactions have been investigated in the framework of a processual understanding of the city landscape, where eventification and festivalisation represent two main increasing trends. The research also touches the worlding phenomena of comics-related conventions, situating the case within a broader project ecology
