Patrimonio culturale e rigenerazione urbana

The relationships between cultural heritage and urban regeneration are numerous. From a multidisciplinary albeit mainly legal perspective, such relationships are examined by dwelling on three aspects. The first is how to define "cultural heritage"; the second relates to the tools available to public authorities to develop the relationship between cultural heritage and urban regeneration; and the third aspect is how to disentangle the types of all those relationships. Reflecting on these three aspects the paper explores the key role played by cultural and educational institutions - such as museums or universities - in fostering a virtuous relationship between cultural heritage and urban regeneration.
